Chat

Chat is your company’s assistant. It answers like a capable assistant, knows your company, and proposes goals, plans and changes. Nothing starts until you confirm.

The Chat screen#

Your conversations are on the left, the current one in the middle with the message box under it, and on the right the plan of the goal the conversation is about. Each conversation is yours: other members have their own.

What you can ask#

Ask about…For example
Your company, its work and knowledge, answered with sources“What did we promise customers about delivery times?”
Anything you’d ask a capable assistant“How should we price a bulk discount on paper?”
Which app to connect for some work“What should we use to send our newsletter?”
How Royak works“What happens when a limit is reached?”
A goal for your team, with a budget“Prepare the Q4 price list for our top 20 customers, up to 300 credits.”
Changes to your team or schedule“Hire a second support agent”, “every Monday, prepare the sales report”.

Replies take whatever length and form the question needs. What Royak can do with an app comes from your connections; Chat says so when an app isn’t connected yet.

Sending a message#

Write in Message Chat and press Enter to send (Shift+Enter starts a new line). Departments and Knowledge under the box name one in your message. The paperclip attaches a text file (Markdown, plain text, CSV or JSON, up to 1 MB); Chat sees it and can propose adding it to knowledge.

While Chat works it shows each thing it reads (“Read Organization”), then the reply as it is written. Stop ends the reply. Above each reply, “Read: … · N calls · $x” says what it looked at and what it cost. Leaving the page or closing the browser doesn’t stop it: the reply is there when you come back.

CarefulStop can’t recall a call already sent: it finishes and is charged.

Proposals you confirm#

When you ask for a change, Chat shows a card instead of acting: where the change lands, exactly what changes (old values struck through), and a button that names the action, such as Change the plan. Dismiss it, or keep talking to change it.

Chat proposes…You select
A goal, with its AI spend capConfirm and plan, or Edit it first
A plan of tasks for a goalApprove and start, or Change plan
Several changes at once (departments, employees, models)Apply N changes: all of them in order, or Dismiss
Repeating work, such as a weekly reportThe Repeat “…” for {name} card, with its timetable and monthly estimate
Something worth rememberingRemember, or Don’t keep

If what a card rests on changes after you saw it, the card comes back marked Changed since shown. One exception to cards: dates you mention, such as a deadline, go on the calendar straight away.

CarefulA card proposed after Chat read something you didn’t write (an email, a web page, a supplier’s file) marks the words that came from there: “Includes words you didn’t write.” Check names, figures and addresses before you confirm.

Answers and sources#

An answer from your company’s knowledge puts a chip such as [B1] after each sentence it rests on, and lists its Sources underneath; each opens the document, deliverable or past conversation. Also found, not cited shows what else the search turned up. Under some answers, Worth remembering? offers a memory to keep; see Memory and shelves.

The model and cost#

The model pill in the message box chooses Chat’s model for the whole company, from the next call (the owner chooses it). Auto lets Royak pick an evaluated model; on Free, Chat always runs on Auto. On Paid, each model shows roughly what a call costs. Chat talks about cost in your units: credits while your plan’s credits pay, else money. A budget you give without a unit, such as “budget 500”, is read the same way.

Conversations#

New conversation starts an empty one; its first reply names it. More actions can Rename or Archive a conversation (everything in it is kept, and Restore brings it back). Chat opens on your latest conversation. When a conversation grows long, earlier messages are summarized, and a marker shows where.

What Chat can’t do#

Chat can’t approve a plan for you, activate a proposal, raise a budget, decide an Inbox item or give anyone access. Those always need your click.

CarefulNever paste an API key or password into Chat. AI keys go in Settings → AI models, and app keys in the app’s form on Connections.

Each employee also has their own chat: select them in the Office and open their Chat tab. See Departments and employees.

Questions#

Does every message cost something?

Yes: each reply is one or more AI calls, and the line above it says how many and what they cost.

Can Chat change things by itself?

No, apart from adding dates you mention to the calendar. Everything else is a card you confirm.

Does Chat stop when I pause the company?

Yes. Its AI calls stop until you resume.

Can other members read my chats?

No. Each member writes in their own conversations.
