Import automations
Bring in the automations you already run in Zapier or n8n, and the procedures your team follows. Royak reads them into a report, and the rows marked Ready become routines, one group at a time.
- You are the company’s owner.
- An export from Zapier or n8n, or SOPs, runbooks or checklists as PDF, Word or Markdown.
- Your employees hired, so each automation has an owner. You can also hire them afterwards.

What it reads#
| File | Where to get it |
|---|---|
| Zapier export (.json) | In Zapier, Settings → Security and data → Download my Zap workflows. Zapier offers it on Team and Enterprise plans. |
| n8n workflow (.json) | Open a workflow, open the ⋯ workflow menu and choose Download. For many, export them with the n8n command line and drop them as one .zip. |
| SOPs and runbooks | PDF, Word or Markdown with real text in them. Scanned pages can’t be read, and files over 20 MB are not read. |
Drop up to 500 files at once, or one .zip.
Import your files#
- 1
Open Import automations
On Connections, select Import automations.
- 2
Drop your files
Or select Choose files. A file of another kind is refused before anything is sent.
- 3
Let it read
Each file shows Read · {n} automations, Reading, Waiting or Couldn’t read with why. Nothing is added while it reads, and your Inbox tells you when it is done.
- 4
Open the report
Select See the report. A file that couldn’t be read can be swapped with Replace file.
Read the report#
The report lists every automation found, grouped by department and then employee, with what each becomes: a routine for one employee, its schedule, and about what it costs a month. Rows no active employee owns come last, under Not assigned yet.
| Status | Means |
|---|---|
| Ready | Its apps are connected and it stays inside the company. |
| Needs a connection | An app it uses isn’t connected. Connect {app} or Reconnect {app} from the row brings you back here. |
| Needs your decision | It writes outside the company (an email, text, campaign or post) or moves money, or nobody owns it. Decide: Approve each send, Choose the owner…, or keep it in your old system. |
| Stays in your old system | It uses a code step, a two-way sync or an app Royak can’t reach, or waits for an answer as it runs. |
Status is worked out each time you open the report, so connecting an app or hiring an employee changes it at once.
Add the ready ones#
- 1
Pick a group
Each department or employee shows “{n} ready · about {amount} a month” and Add {n} ready.
- 2
Review the sheet
It shows the group’s month, each monthly limit it would pass (you can still add it, or Raise the limit), its timing changes and its routines by employee.
- 3
Add them
Select Add {n} automations. They are added together as routines, or not at all if your plan has no room for all of them.
Every added routine still passes access, approvals and limits: an automation that sent email from Zapier now asks you before each send, unless a standing approval covers it.
Start a company from your files#
When you create a company, the Your files step reads the same files to draft your first departments and employees. Nothing runs, connects or is added until you open your office; then the import’s rows go to the new employees, or wait under Not assigned yet.
Questions#
Does importing change anything in Zapier or n8n?
No. Royak only reads the files you give it.
Can I add everything at once?
No. You add one department’s or employee’s ready rows at a time, after seeing their monthly cost and limits.
Can I import from Make or Power Automate?
Not yet. Today it reads Zapier and n8n exports and your documents.
Can I remove a file from an import?
No, but nothing runs until you add it. A file that couldn’t be read can be replaced.
