Every employee can search the web unless you turn it off. Employees you allow can also open pages, and submit forms you approve, on the sites you list.

Search or browse#

Web searchWeb browser
Does: asks a search engine and returns findings with their addresses.Does: opens a page on an allowed site and reads it, or submits a form.
Who: every employee, without you adding them.Who: only employees you give Read or Read and write.
Where: the whole public web.Where: only the domains you allow, and their subdomains.
Approval: none; it only reads.Approval: none to read; each form submission waits for your exact approval.
Cost: 30 credits a search.Cost: paid from credits for each page or form.

Both are paid from your plan’s monthly credits, never from your own AI key.

NoteBoth are outside content. An employee never takes instructions from a page or a search result.

Employees search on their own whenever a task needs something your company’s documents and apps don’t hold: current prices, news, laws, other companies, people, products or places. You don’t need to write “search the web” in the brief. They report what they found with its address and the date the page gives, and treat it as a usable source unless your brief names another.

To turn it off for everyone, open Settings → General and switch off Employees may search the web. It saves at once.

The Web search switch is in Settings › General.
TipEach search uses 30 credits. If you want to save credits, turn web search off; employees then work from your sources and apps only.

Turn on the web browser#

  1. 1

    Open Web browser

On Connections, find Web browser in Add an app and select Connect.

  2. 2

    Allow its first domain

Enter a Domain, such as example.com, and select Turn on. Subdomains are included.

  3. 3

    Allow more sites

Under Allowed domains, add each with Allow domain. Each is a switch you can turn off.

  4. 4

    Give employees access

Under Who can use it: Read to read pages, Read and write to also submit forms.

How the browser behaves#

  • Each use is a fresh browser on Royak, signed in to nothing, closed when the call ends.
  • It never fills in passwords or uploads files, so it can’t sign in to a site.
  • A page that leads off the allowed domains is refused.
  • Each visit shows in the task’s timeline with the page title, address and a screenshot.
CarefulA submitted form may change something on another site and can’t be called back. If Royak can’t tell whether it went through, it asks you to check rather than submitting again.

Questions#

Can the browser log in to my accounts?

No. It is signed in to nothing and never types a password. To work in an app, connect it instead.

What happens when credits run out?

Searching and browsing wait until your credits renew on the 1st, even if you have your own AI key.
