Troubleshooting

The problems owners meet most, what causes each one and exactly what to do. Most waits are Royak asking you something; nothing runs or is charged while work waits for you.

An employee is idle, stuck or waiting#

An employee’s status comes from its work, and the same word shows in the office, on People and on the task. Find the status below.

It says Idle and does nothing.

Employees work only when given work: Idle means no task, or the last one was canceled. Select Assign task or press C, or give it a routine. See Give your first task.

It says Draft and I can’t assign it work.

It has never been activated, so nothing runs and nothing is spent. Open it and select Activate, shown with its draft’s version, such as Activate v1. See Hire your first employee.

Its task stays Queued.

It waits for a task it depends on, or for room under your plan’s work running at once: 2 on Free, 10 on Paid. It starts by itself when room frees; nothing to do. See Free and Paid.

It says Input needed.

It asked you a question, or stopped as Not making progress because its last steps added nothing new. Open it from the Inbox and Send answer, or write Your guidance and Resume with guidance; or cancel the task. See Needs you and Inbox.

It says Approval needed.

It waits for you to approve one exact action. Decide in Inbox → Needs you. See Approvals.

It says Paused.

You paused the task, the employee or the whole company. Select Resume where you paused it; work continues from the same step. See Pause the company.

Its task says Blocked.

A task it depends on failed, so it won’t start. Assign it again once the earlier work is done. See Teams and handoffs.

A task failed#

Open the task from Inbox Updates or Work → Done. The task leads with the reason you can act on; its timeline shows every step until then. A failed task isn’t run again by itself: fix the cause, then give the work again with Assign task.

The task says…Do this
A spending limit was reached and not raisedRaise the limit in Usage, or assign the task again tomorrow. See Budgets and spending limits.
The brief, instructions and passages are too long for one stepShorten the brief and assign it again.
The employee did not return a usable deliverable in two attemptsMake the brief clearer about what to produce, then assign it again.
The employee was paused, or no longer activeResume or activate the employee, then assign it again.
The model provider refused the requestWith your own key, check it in Settings → AI models. See Your own AI key.
The employee’s model is not allowed by the current limitsAllow the model in Usage → Edit limits, or change the employee’s model.
TipStill failing? Select Report this problem on the task: it attaches the task to your report. See Report a problem.

A task waits for a limit or credits#

It says Needs a key, or Waiting for credits.

This month’s credits are used up. It continues by itself when they renew on the 1st, when you upgrade to Paid, or on Paid once you add your own key. See When credits run out.

It asks me to raise a limit.

It reached a money limit you set. Select Approve raise or Decline in the Inbox or on Usage within 24 hours; no answer ends the task. See Budgets and spending limits.

Usage says Spending blocked.

Paid calls can’t start; the banner leads with the reason. If it says paid execution is off for the company or the platform, only Royak’s operator can turn it on: email support@royak.app.

Royak refused a new employee, app or routine.

You reached a plan limit. Only the new thing is refused; make room, or select Upgrade to Paid. See Free and Paid.

A connection needs attention#

The rail’s Connections shows a warning sign while a connection needs you, and tasks that rely on it wait.

It says Needs reconnecting or Access expired.

The app’s sign-in ran out or was revoked. Open it in Connections and select Reconnect {app}. See Connecting apps.

It says Check what was sent.

Something it sent has no confirmed outcome. Check the app itself, then answer under Recent activity: Check Linear for a Linear issue, or It happened or It did not happen. Nothing is resent.

My own server says Not working.

It stopped answering, so its calls fail. Select Check again once it is back. If it refused its key, disconnect it and add it again.

An approval expired or its outcome is unknown#

A request Expired.

No one decided within 24 hours, so nothing was sent and the task went on without it. The employee can ask again from the task. For writes you always allow, consider a standing approval.

A request says Outcome unknown.

The app never confirmed it. Royak won’t send it again, so check the app yourself. See Approvals.

It says my approval no longer counts.

The task read new content you didn’t write after you approved, so nothing was sent. The employee can ask again, and you decide on the new request.

The office shows a list instead of 3D#

The Office opens on the list.

Your browser can’t draw 3D (it has no WebGL 2). Turn on hardware acceleration in the browser’s settings, update it, or try another browser. If the address ends in ?webgl=off, remove it. The list shows the same people and live status. See The 3D office.

It says 3D view unavailable.

The scene failed to load or lost its graphics. Select Retry 3D view, or Use employee list to carry on.

It says “3D is running without GPU acceleration.”

The browser draws without your graphics card, so it is slow. Turn on hardware acceleration, or select Use employee list.

Sign-in problems#

“Email or password is wrong.”

Select Forgot password? to set a new one. If you signed up with Google, use Continue with Google. See Security.

It asks me to confirm my email.

Enter the 6-digit code from the email, or open its link. The code expires in one hour; Resend code sends a new one.

“This sign-in link can’t be used.”

Links work once and for one hour. Select Email me a new link, or Sign in with password or Google.

No email arrives.

Check spam, then Send again after a minute. Wrong address? Use a different email.

My invitation link doesn’t work.

Sign in with the address it was sent to. Links work once, for 7 days; ask the owner for a new invitation. See Team members.

I still can’t get in.

Email support@royak.app from the address you use for Royak.
